I have been doing photography for a long time and I somehow “specialize” in wedding photography, but I also have it in other fields because I like to discover other genres of photography. Looking at the fact that Croatia is quite a traditional country when it comes to weddings, have you ever wondered what a wedding would look like where only the two of you are present? Most of you would probably say: „ God what kind of wedding would that be….“. But when you think about it a little better it can be a superb emotional experience for you that you will remember for a lifetime. It’s something called Elopement wedding in the world and I’m not really sure how to translate it into Croatian 😊 but we’ll stay with the English name cause this text is in english also 😊.
In principle, we all know what a typical Croatian wedding looks like:
- most of you don’t leave things to the wedding organizers who would make things a lot easier but you bravely go about it yourself and that’s great
- 6 months before the wedding the stresses begin: church, hall, photographer, band, catering, wedding dress, suit etc…
- On the day of the wedding, you are washed away by nervousness because everything has to be as you imagined and if something goes wrong, the stress accumulates.
- Take a quick photo shoot with your other half because you don’t want guests to wait long without you
- You are thinking of doing a couple photo shoot the second day, weekend before or the day after… you don’t like it all because let’s be realistic when the wedding is over you just want to travel away from everything to start enjoying the other half and get rid of the accumulated stress of organizing a wedding
Unlike all protocols, at Elopement wedding, it is a story written exclusively for the two of you, without any distractions… It can be a wedding that involves the two of you or a small number of people (joining later). In my “definition” Elopement wedding is all about you and your desires and how to make your day look perfect with your soulmate where you will enjoy each other and remember such a day for a lifetime .
So let me just give you one example of what your day at my Elopement wedding organization would look like, to get an impression of what I’m talking about.

- Waking up on Plitvice Lakes, dressing up for a wedding
- Emotional first look & private moment
- Portraits at Plitvicka jezera falls and around
- Falls at NP Plitvicka jezera
- Lunch/drink at romantic lake wooden boat
- Heading to Gola Plješivica with Jeep
- On the rock Licka kapa – vows, first kiss and portraits
- Dinner on the rock with the sunset and music in background
- If this is all about you two then you are off to go to enjoy your intimate moments in hotel
- If you want your closest people with you that night we can make party for you and them till last one goes to bed 😊
