Petrinja Engagement Photosession
And again – internet connects people :).
Lorena and Luka, a beautiful couple from the town Petrinja which was hit by a devastating earthquake just a few months ago. It all went through my head the moment I contacted with Lorena. It was not a problem for them to come to Zagreb to do a photo-session but I wanted to go to Petrinja and take photos there. The idea in my head was to make a beautiful love story in a city that was recently literally destroyed by an earthquake. I wanted to show how love is stronger and can conquer anything and everything. How a couple who could have packed their suitcases a long time ago and look for a future in another city, decided to stay and build their future there from the ground up.
I remember being in Petrinja once before, a long time ago. But now, as we walked downtown and witnessed the horror of a devastating earthquake I had the opportunity to meet this beautiful couple. They won me over with their spontaneity and modesty. This was their first experience with a professional photographer. They didn’t know what to expect but in the end they didn’t even feel like someone is taking photos. Everything went so spontaneously and without stress.We made the day super fun and interesting and got a handful of great photos. Photos that will stay with them forever.
The feeling when I met them was like we’ve known each other for years and that’s that click I was writing you about. That click gives me some extra energy to get the best out of them and myself. I do not want this to be a depressing story but rather a story about celebration of life, love and new beginnings! Absolutely nothing has been done in Petrinja regarding the repair of the earthquake damage even months after the earthquake. Still I wanted to show the love story of two young people who, despite the situation and the stress they have experienced, they remained there to build their future. And that somehow gives hope for a better tomorrow. The feeling that no matter what-it will get better eventually. After the rain always comes the sun. Lorena and Luka have completely won me over. Our story will not end with this photo shoot. There are many more stories they are to tell you through my photos. I just know that :).
